I want to go out fishing tomorrow the rain doesn't bother me but my question is with 50 degree air temps is it worth going out or will the bit be shut off

Some of the guys I've talked to or have seen here have been catching nice fish. You should go

Temps will be lower sure..but the weather seems good for a bite.

Obviously nothing is a guarantee..but you won't catch any on your sofa either.

you never know bud. the topwater and frog bite was on all day today where i went so i'm thinking it will shut down there tomorrow for sure. check the barometric pressure too.

Thanks guys..Sam what is a good barometric preasure ?

There are no really bad pressures..it is just how you approach the water.

Today for instance with the cloudy weather and breaks in the rain was a slightly higher pressure then say tomorrow. Fishing can be shallow and aggressive as fish move away from cover and hunt in the shallower areas.

Tomorrow for instance, will be along rainy day, following on many days in a row of pressure dropping. This will probably indicate a low pressure. Fish become more lethargic and tend to delve deeper. Using slower jigs and such in deeper waters could prove far more effective then trying top water lures.

So many factors to pay attention too once you get down to it..gonna be a full moon as well. Solar Lunar calenders claim these periods tend to be good for fishing/hunting.

Alright I'll think it over tonight thanks for the help

I've all ways thought and heard that falling-low pressure turns on the fish and makes them aggressive

I think the low pressure has settled in now and shouldn't have too much affect on them.Overcast skies and rain can produce some good fishing. The moon phase can also effect the bite also. It's always worth getting out on the water to me,no matter how I do.

It does.. but the key is a "falling" to low pressure.

A sustained low pushes em deep and makes em sluggish.

The concept being they feed up on the falling pressure to prepare for the low pressure and colder temps often associated with it. Then conserve the energy of that food during the settled low pressure in case it hangs around for a long period.

Today is the "seasons best" they say due to the solunar effects on bait fish, etc that drive the bigger fish nuts; and I catch more big fish in the rain than any other day.

If you dress accordingly, and prepare yourself for it....a day on the water is never without its rewards. Fish on & tight lines.

there is bad pressure since what you don't want is drastic changes..low pressure and clouds / rain to sudden bright sun, no wind no clouds. the changes tend to give them lock jay especially when going from low to high. it seems to matter more in a shallower place too. a lot of factors come into play, but pressure is part of it.

Let the fish tell you. I went out yesterday afternoon and was able to pull a pattern together by slow rolling a spinnerbait w/one particular skirt & blade color, away from the shore in 6 to 8 ft. of water. Had to run it just over the top of the weeds or rock piles. Oh yeah, had to be on the windward side. Tried a lot of different baits but that was the only one that consistently caught good bass.

I was at my local spot the other day and the baitfish were going INSANE the big alewifes were busting all over the surface and i kept seeing massive explosions on the surface. I could literally see the massive wake of baitfish scrambling in different directions darting. There defiantly were some BIG bass trying to get them. I threw a rapala J9 in silver at the baitfish and hooked a really nice bass. Lost him after 5 seconds or so due to my poor unexpected hookset and the stretchy mono. Kinda pissed me off cause it was the biggest i hooked that day Sad

Anywho i've fished this pond a ton of times, but never ever seen this kind of aggressive balls of baitfish exploding near me? It's intense! I have no clue why????
