Just about anything that swims, bass are still biting really well you just need to locate them and present the right offering

For one thing, as stated quite a few times here, stick with the small, shallow ponds, the fish are schooled up and are easier to locate. Yellow perch are the most aggressive this time of the year and will strike at just about anything. Bass can be hit or miss depending on the pond, some ponds just fish better than others.

Definitely true! some shallow ponds may produce good results, but i fished one of my shallow honey holes last winter an never even got bite! So you really just gota get out there an go pond hoping until you come across one thats got a decent bite. If you don't have electronics and don't want to spend all day trying to find some fish just go look for ponds less than 12 acres.

Or find the deepest water you can and drop shot , sure fire way to find groups of fish stacked up

Never thought of using the drop shot in cold water but have been seeing articles that it is a good cold water tactic! May not get a chance to try it until next spring though Exclamation Laughing
