During the off season how do people care for their battery to ensure its life for the following season?

Keep them in a cool, not cold, well ventalated place. If they are not maintainace free, top them off with Distilled water ONLY. Put them on the charger once a month to help them stay at full charge. Do not leave them out in the cold or in your boat. Thats a sure fire way to shorten the batteries overall life.

Check them and make sure theyre holding a full charge once in awhile. They have a type of memory to them so you always want to keep them charged when not in use.

I left mine in the garage last winter and it definitely shortened the life. They are going in the basement this year

Use a battery tender to maintain them.
