Jay I actually started a pm to you but thought that someone else may benefit from my questions. First, congrats...the business seems to be doing well. I am happy for your success. I was looking through your catalog and want to place an order. I haven't jig fished before so I was wondering what sizes are the "typical." I know different conditions dictate things, but if there were and all rounder, would that be 1/2? 3/8? I fish mostly stained water so I am thinking darker colors. What would you recommend as a starter kit?

Thanks and anyone else who wants to chime in is welcome.

Charlie

Shawn you are quick! Thanks!

That's what she said. LOL. I just really started using a jig this year. I bought 4-5 off Jay in the spring and I think 3 of them were black. I started with the 1/4 but really like the 3/8 size. I've caught a lot of fish with it so far. I usually use a blue trailer but will use a black with blue flake.

no problem. I have added a couple of swim jigs to my collection now but that black 3/8 Boag Hog is my go to

Coincidently, I emailed Boag Hog a similar question today. Jay Wallace responded quickly with the following answer. Hopefully, he doesn't mind me posting it.

Hi Patrick,
Black/blue,green pumpkin/black flake are real good for most conditions.
I used black cherry in the beginning of the year and faired well.
1/4oz jigs are great in spring
3/8 oz are good summer
1/2 oz is good when windy or just bigger fish hunting.
Hope this helps. If you have anymore questions please ask.

Thank you,
Jay Wallace www.boaghogbaits.com

Cheers,
Patrick

I don't mind at all guys. This place will give you more answers than you can imagine.
What I might throw might not be what the next guy throws.
My #1 selling color and size seems to be black & black blue in 3/8 oz. I personally like 3/8 myself.
We are offering custom colors too. They will be held top secret if requested or you can share your favorite color.
