Real simple. I like to fish for bass usually real early 5-9am. Know a couple of good ponds with decent success. Interested in sharing knowledge with other fisherman in the area and tag-teaming a pond or 2 this saturday mainly like to fish from the shore but would be open to taking a small boat out (i dont have one). i would rate myself slightly above average experience as i usually catch something even when everyone else isnt. plus its hard taking pics while holding the fish.

Hey man,

I think I met you Sat. morning at the Res. as I was launching my kayak. I'm sure you'll find some folks on here fishing the Canton area. I hear Ponkapoag a lot on here, so I know these areas are being fished.

Go to BassPro and pick up a D10 for $399. I bought one last week to have as a second, light weight boat. I fished it at Canton Res on Saturday and Buckmaster on Sunday and it's a VERY competent fishing platform. Nice open cockpit, plenty of leg and foot space and stable. I also has lots of space behind the seat to put a crate.

If $399 is too pricey they have an A10 for $299. Same hull design, less padding in the seat and no foot braces. But you can buy footbraces and put them in yourself for around $30.

call places that rent Caonoes and Kayaks because they sell them after a few years, also Ocean State Job Lot has Kayaks and some of the Walmarts are selling them too.i weigh 200 and i bring 100 pounds of gear,my kayak is only a 9.5 footer and i've never had any worries about too much weight.MAKE SURE YOU GET 1 WITH A DECENT SEAT OR A SEAT THAT CAN BE PADDED OUT,my only issue on long fishing trips is the sore ass, lol!

At 270 the D10 and A10 are too small for you since they have a max weight limit of 300 lbs. You should be looking for a 12 ft or larger yak - also available at BassPro but closer to $500.

I did see a fishing sit-on-top advertised at Ocean State for $400 recently.

You should definitely check out Charles River Canoe and Kayak for used rental boats. If you can, see if they have a Pungo 120 or 140. These are good, stable recreational yaks.

i got the pungo 120 stabilitys gr8. but if you can get a used 140 that would fit your needs a little better. good luck. o yea are you shure you got that right your profile looks more like 170 lbs

I scraped up about 4 or 5, biggest about 2 3/4, plus some picks mixed in of course. Things were a bit slow for sure in the AM, and I left about 930ish. The other end of the lake definitely has some good spots though, I wish I had more time. If you can get yourself a kayak on the cheap, def. do it.

is canton res filled back up i know it was low as hell last year cause of the norwood dam and there was a vote to comletly drain the pond to build on it but it was shot down. canton res has some good fishing havent been this year yet and pnkapong is a good hole very weedy and shallow deepest it gets is 7-9 ft i believe guy pulled out an 11lber last year there and a few years ago a 10 was pulled threw the ice

yea the water is still low but the fish are in there pretty good still. pulled a couple of smalls out there so far this year but just pickin up for me as i am limited to only really by the damn. if they are not there im screwed..last year i went early june during a thunderstorm and it was an amazing sight to watch. i like to throw mainly top lures and they were hitting everything hard. caught about 13 in 3hrs or so on frogs, rapala's and poppers. biggest was an easy 5lb pig but since i just pulled over and was the first time i tried the rez i left my phone in the car so no pics. all thrown back though so maybe he;s a 6-7lbder.
