I use the reel from a Bill Dance select baitcast combo that was 60$ (rod and reel) and a 6' MH bionic blade rod from bass pro. I have caught most of my big fish on this setup and it works well. The reel feels cheap and bulky, but casts a mile, has a good drag setup and has given me no problems in the 2 years I've owned it. I don't know if the rod is glass or graphite, but it doesn't really matter to me, as out of my 4 rod and reel setups, this is my favorite. This year, I've had a lipless cranker on that setup 90% of the time, but use it with all types of crankbaits. It has a fair amount of sensitivity and also some backbone to land decent fish.
