HI guys, I'm from putnam CT in the north eastern part of the state. I fish a few lakes is MA for smallmouth bass like webster lake, singletary lake, and wallum. I'm trying to find a few more spots in a 45min to 1 hour tops distance from me. I read online that big alum pond in sturbrige has a lot of smallies but ive been there about three times this year and only cought a bunch of LMB. I also read that lake lashaway has smallmouth bass, any body catch them at eather of those two lakes/ponds or know of any other close by smallmouth hot spots? Any info would be much appreciated!

Hi,
I live next to both of em. Wickaboag has smallies too. But they drained lashaway to re build the damn and i'm not sure when you can get a boat back out there? I think webster is way better than all the ones mentioned. I've seen some decent smallies come from lashaway and wickaboag but i don't know how plentiful they are?
Good luck

Thanks for the info jwall046. Ive fished webster lake a lot and find it to be pretty good, my brother got a 19in smallie there this past spring, guessing it was around 3.5lb and Ive caught a lot of 1lb-2lb smallies there but the fishing at webster seems to be really slow a lot of the time.

Most likely due to high pressure from fishing. Go to Maine.lol
They have the best smallie waters or winni.
Good luck
