This weather has got me feeling rather pessimistic about this season. Last year the places I usually fish where mostly dead. With the exception of the stocked trout the fishing was really off.

Brookline reservoir apparently had a fish kill in late May last year. Brookline res is usually not a very weedy place to fish but over the summer the water weeds simply just took over. I couldn't fish anything but a weedless spoon in there.

Chestnut hill reservoir which is usually a moderately weedy place had weed abatement which seems to have left the waterway "dead" I couldn't even see sunfish.

Now with all this "historic" snow I fear that many other water ways will have reduced fish stocks to due winter fish kills.

I may have to take up surf fishing just to have reasonable chance to catch any fish this year. On the other hand maybe I will just get a 2nd job to make money instead.

Yeah, I'm not feeling real good about the season either. We really won't know until things open up. There is no mild weather in the long range forecast. Everything will be way off schedule this year for sure.

yeah, season will be way off for small lakes/ponds. but for bigger lake, it wont be major changes. probably one or two weeks delayed. But for shore-fishing people, yeah, definitely prepare for crappy season this year. Unless you can hone them from your knowledge then you are lucky.
