I am looking to buy a fishing rod + reel in the $150-$180 budget that I could use for fishing both in saltwater from a small boat close to the shore and in bays for strippers as well as in freshwater for bigger fish like pike.
I currently have a bassproshop graphite IM6 rod with president's reel (which I LOVE) that some of you guys recommended me earlier this year, so I am trying to get a bigger one to fish mainly saltwater (and if I could use it in freshwater for bigger fish that would be great).
I went to bass pro shops this weekend but I had no clue what to buy... What would you recommend me?

If you want to go bass pro shop:
- Muskie tigger rod - $60 (cheap one I can find in bass pro website)
- Abu Garcia Ambassadeur C3 or C4 - 100-130$
This is what I will go with your price range. Just a idea. But if you can find cheaper deal on reel, it will affect your price on price range.
Reason I picked Muskie rod is that it is heavy duty pole. Make sure you pick right weight rate and action on pole. It is designed for big fish for freshwater and stripers. In which, you wanted.
