Hi all, I am new to the MAFF forum. thanks for all the good info that is shared by everyone. I went out tonight to the Nip and it was slow, missed a few fish, then I left the worm on the bottom for about a minute while I helped my partner and then I slowly reeled in. at first I thought it was a snag but the snag pulled back and was taking line. a good fight, it was hooked good and I safely released it to be caught again. it was the only fish boated tonight. my personal best in Massachusetts at 4.8 pounds. Dave.

Great catch... how were the weeds down there? I was thinking about taking the kayak this weekend. I'm hoping the jet ski's and water skiers are not out due to the weeds.. they get annoying at the Nip..

the weeds are there in the North and North west areas of the lake. last night was quiet, no jet skiers or big power boats, a few kayaks and one other basser in a jon boat. I am new to the lake so I am still learning were the fish are typically location. good luck.

Good fish in there. Focus on the weed beds that are off of the weed lines around the edges..Fish hang on the edges of those weed lines over the submerged weeds.

thanks Bollesy, I will try again next week and see what happens. I also found out that there are a lot of hidden rocks out there. my motor prop felt some pain last night, no serious damage though.

Fished here for a few hours tonight. Caught a small one on a swimbait, but that's it. Never been a fan of this place. Haha.

So after talking about the Nip, I figured I would give it a shot since theres a tourny on my original spot ( Ashumet) for today..
Fished 5 am till 11:30 and ended up with 5 bass or a 4 fish bag for about 10 lbs.
Weighed two of them. 3 lb 6 oz. and a 3 lb 11 oz along with two about 1.8.
4 on the frog in the back part of the pond and 1 on a sebile next to rocks leading into the back area.

How far back did you go? Yesterday I went right up until it started to get fairly thick. Had no luck up until that point. Wonder if I should have gone farther back.
