Any tips on catching tiger muskie?

Yeah, just keep casting for them! they are called "10 thousand casts" for a reason. They are super hard and smart fish to chase at. It takes master of art to able catch one or twice in our state.

Any preferences on lures? Or maybe live bait?

I would say, 9/10 of time that people are unexpect caught muskie by using live bait. Usually by ice-fishing. But during the spring to fall, is unheard of someone who caught them. But Yes, I knew few people who got lucky to get one by fishing for bass.

If you want to gain your chance to be catch one, live bait is way to go.

If you are up for huge challenge that pay off big reward - use lures to catch them. But it is just me. I like the odd-challenges.

Big tip - Use anything that is big/huge size of bait or lures will get their attention. However, will it make them to bite? Probably yes or probably not.
