Hi everyone,

My name's Kara, I'm new to the site and new to fishing in general. I'm a graduate student studying fish swimming biomechanics and evolution at Harvard. I decided it's about time that I learned about fish in the real world, and not just in the lab.

If any of you have suggestions, either for "learning to fish" resources, or places to go, or equipment or anything, let me know! Also, drop me a line if you just want to chat. I may not know about fishing--but I know a lot about fish biology in general.

Thanks! And I hope to learn from all of you!

Kara

I am a scientist (molecular biologist 15 years +) and a science mind lends itself readily to fishing. I recommend this board and In-Fisherman magazine to get ideas and start learning how to find fish.

Experience is huge though, especially at the tough places like Wachusett and Quabbin.

Best of luck!

I'm a Lead Production Control Specialist which does nothing at all to help me catch fish. Thats why I joined MAFF, great place.

It's funny you use the word awesome because I'm that too. I'm not a clown that wears make up. More like a class clown.
