So, for example, I picked Waschusett RES for lake. There are two fish that I usually noticed for couple of years but nobody has answer except theories about blah blah.
Brown trout - Light brown colors/super dark color on their skin? Any reason to this? (just saw tunameltdown's post on brown. Had to say that was beautiful color on trout) I caught several brown in RES at recently summer, they was pure silver color along with their usual characteristics on their body. However, on spring, I caught them on dark brown color... So, whats up with that?
Rainbow trout - They has super red stripe on their body but sometimes, they aren't there. (I know its related to spawn but just saw post from someone caught rainbow trout that was caught in July was in super red stripe.) Second issue, once in while, their freckle black dots aren't completely all over the body like as usual?

Within the caucasion race there are different skin tones. If you and I stood next to one another you would definitly see a difference in skin tone, well same goes for "rainbow trout"
other things like the fish's location, water color will also effect the fishs color.
1 pond comes to mind. You can catch a bass and it looks like a typical LM bass white green and black, move 10' down the shoreline and you catch one that has a definite "yellow" tint to its normally white areas.
don't they blend in with their surroundings? i've noticed that the dark and yellow bass are usually in weeds and then i've been to clear water and sandy places and the fish are really white on the bottom. i've noticed that they're a lot lighter overall in the colder water too but dunno why. oxygen? metabolism?

Now, for brown, why does they sometimes has red dot and doesnt have red dots.. I usually caught small brown trout that DEFINITELY has red dots meanwhile bigger browns has half/half red dots or not. Do anyone know about this? Probably different from native trout and ferot trout from Europe that imported to America?
haha, put joke behind, and specifically to rainbow trout.. why do they "sometimes" has pure silver on their body with little black freckle dots while red stripe? but when they are dead and they become all silver color but look like top part of body has dark color while rest of body has bright silver? Is that applies to temperature? or different location of depth depend on how clean it is? (stratos - can you answer this? if you knew)

I answered your question. They look different because they are different fish. Just like you and I look different because we are different people..... different genetics
