Agreed. You can get chaffed pulling your worm in and out of a dry box

One of the great things about kayaking is that it forces you to be a minimalist and make decisions about what is most important. The entire ethos is to simplify the process to focus less on gear and more on just fishing and being outdoors on the water.

I typically take 4 medium Plano boxes - crankbaits, soft plastics and jigs, top waters, and spinnerbait, and I am always trying to figure out how to take LESS stuff. For example, I used to go out with four rods but have recently paired that down to three, it's just less stuff to worry about, shortens load/unload, and offers more time on the water.

Having said all that, I have a brand new Flambeau tackle bag that holds 6-7 plano boxes that will accompany me should any of you invite me in as tailgunner for a tourney. Cool

I have a Cabela's tackle bag that holds 8 big Plano box, and 2 small. It a beast. But as a co-angler I got a different version of the bass pro back pack and is more manageable from the back of the boat. I still stuff it to the gills, typically, 4 or 5 big plano box, 1 or 2 small planos, jig binder, spinner bait binder, weigh bag, tools/scale, scents, culling system, light duty rain gear, something sun block and a sore back, lol. Soft plastics in a separate stuffed double binder thing.

my bass pro backpack has a pull out hody to pull over in the rain - keeps it like a poncho - i also have some moisture attractent bags in there witch helps to keep all my stuff rust free - after i drowned some baits and do some switchero there will be some water in the clear boxes

so that helps get the rust off

what Roger really needs is a supply raft towed behind the boat.

I have used this bag for 4 years now. Its faded by the sun but not a rip in it and all zippers still going strong. I probably just jinxed myself.

I can put 4-5 plano boxes in it depending on thier thickness. The front pouch holds my bagged soft plastics and the 3 end pouches hold things like a scale. my C-rig leader keeper, fish attractant, a roll of electrical tape, a screw driver and an adjustable wrench. The 2 smaller pockets hold a pair of scissors and a pair of needle nose pliers.

That backpack that Sam pointed out would be my GO TO if i were a shore angler for sure.

I purchased this same bag over the past season and absolutely fell in love with this bag there is plenty of room for storage and its nice and easy to shoulder it if you have to walk a bit with it and it fits nicely in a cartopper for the amount of accesories it holds. I use the big pocket out front for accesories and one side for plastics and the other for a small spinnerbait box and some more plastics.

oh yeah i forgot, i have some hefty bags to put certain stuff in that i want absolutely dry. i put in there and then in the gear bag. it works very well. i like the backpack style bag because it fits well in my jon boat storage compartments.

Gotta wrap it for protection

I got this Spiderwire bag for Christmas that I plan to use this year mostly when I shore fish. It seems really well built but not quite as many pockets/compartments as some of the others mentioned:

For the kayak I'm switching to the Milk crate solution.
