I have done some saltwater flyfishing from my boat and used to chase schoolies and it was tuff landing one from a boat I have never tried from shore. Good luck.
go watch the reports. if you see reports of blitzing fish in the area get out there.
fish dawn and dusk. dawn being the better time for surface activity. dusk you can still sea birds and fish blitzing.
out going tide at river mouths and harbors the bait fish get sucked out into the ocean and hungry fish wait for them.
go at night to any harbor docks. youll see a ton of bait fish. the big bass cruise the shadow lines. step quitley cuz they spook easy.
bait is pretty small in my area so freshwater and fly fishing is the way to go at night.
if macks, pollack and pogies are around then you can use bigger lures
ive spent many fishless nights watching monsters swim at my feet and tons of fish jumping.
live bait fly fishing and freshwater gear/lures are the ticket in my spot
