What do you guys use to keep your rods from getting banged up in the trunk? Looking for something for 2 piece spinning rods.

some good rod socks are worth it. just don't slam your rods in the door...

For my 2 piece rods, I use homemade rod tubes. They are cheap, and more importantly indestructible. I have accidentally slammed a few in the trunk door, and they are still in great shape.

Just go to your local Home Depot, buy a section of PVC that can fit your rod in it (2, maybe 3 inches if it has big guides), get 2 caps for each end, and you're all set! I bought 25 feet of PVC on clearance for $12, and with some caps for the ends, it was about $25 total. From this I made about 5 tubes, which work great.

A little spray paint, some stick-on decals, and they look pretty good too Razz

I second the Home Depot thing... cheap PVC or cardboard tubes work great. one end of the PVC I use a screw on cap, the other end usualy glued on

I forgot to mention the screw on part. Good point. Otherwise you will have a hard time pulling the end cap off.

The screw on part will make life easier. Thanks for the help!
