Fish Finders

So I am buying my first boat this weekend. 14' aluminum with a deck already on it so im excited. My question is anyone want to chime in on a fish finder for it? My brother for my birthday got me a Lowrance Mark 5x. Anyone have one or have a suggestion on something better he kept the receipt so I can return it. I am looking in the $150-$200 range

I have one as well, but although I'm happy with it, I think Id be happier if I had gotten the elite 4dsi because it has a down scan filter which will give you a much sharper image than the hdi

The HDI has both, its new this year. Looks like you can get it with free maps from lowrance right now too. I'm kind of ticked because I bought mine three weeks ago and isn't eligible.

The HDI can do everything the DSI can do though so I was confused as to why you wished you bought the DSI over it.

And I just double checked and it has a higher resolution screen too. Is there a feature on the DSI i'm not familiar with?

The day has a filter which gives you crisper image. I notice it when I go to rivers.

They updated the HDI and gave it downscan and a higher resolution screen this year. It has every feature the DSI had.
