nope, you cannot do both.
State enforced everyone to kill the record fish if they want the state record fish. (Basically, any fish that bought in for weight in, they has to be dead. Orwise you are breaking "transport live fish law" in Mass)
Most of people on here are not interested to kill them. They are only interested to be getting weight on their personal scale then take photos of it. Released after that. So, they can have their own 15 minutes of fame on the picture. so, this such reason is that other person can catch that "same record fish" at next time.
Some of people are "record fish chaser" or "pin-fish chaser" and they are killing the big fish to just get their name on it. Sad but true.
