trying to see the differences between a yellowtail and winter flounder - both sides. does anyone have any photos of both sidea and can point out the differences? Thanks. i cannot find anything on-line other than the lateral line is drastically curved at the gill plate.
BTW, looking at the bottom of the page before i submit this post, i see "add a poll"
what does this mean?
Yellow tail flounder are usually caught in deeper water (100 ft or more) and have yellow/orange dots on the back where as a winter flounder has black dots on the back thats the easiest way to distinguish the two. Yellow tail flounder is possibly the best eating fish in the ocean of course winter flounder is pretty awesome too.
