On both Horn Pond and Upper Mystic numerous beds, some with fish still on them (probably the males) located in the same type place. If you find a broad flat with weeds, the weeds often start in about 3/4 feet of water and the weeds extend out to about 8/9 feet of water. At both Horn and Upper Mystic the beds were right at the edge of where the weeds stopped in the shallows.
I went into a couple bays looking for beds, but didn't find any bass beds, but lots of bluegill beds. Then stumbled across the larger beds when working the flats that hold weeds.
The beds did not seem to be located in a particular type area whether points or bays, but rather more oriented to the inside of the weed edges.
Now catching them is another story. Hundreds of casts (seems like hundreds) to get a fish to whack at a crank bait (mostly small square bills). Worked plastics across beds too, but took too long and can't see well enough to see if the bait on the bed and wasting my time.
Hoping some of the females moved out into the weeds or nearby structure.
