I am new to the site and everyone has been helpful. I appreciate it all. This is a great site with some pretty cool people with stories I love to read and pictures of great fish.

So i am recently out of grad school and finally have some time to fish. I dont have the money to get top end stuff so im fishing with some decent rods that I have restrung and a light tackle box.

I am looking for any tips or spots around the south shore ( i think thats what its called) are. I know its not the best season to be fishing but there must be fish somewhere. Im looking to take my newphews (4 years younger than myself) out and hopefully grab some fish and let him have some fun. I have seen limited ponds with limited fishing access around. I dont know the area so I dont know whats good and whats a dead lake where im basically just practicing casting and patients.

I would be very grateful to hear of some good places to try in the next week or two since it looks like we are getting some decent weather. So if you guys could please help with some good spots and some tips we both would love it. Hes only ever fished with live bait and a bobber and Id like to teach him the art ( or what limited art i know ) of fish.

From what ive heard its real late in the season, trout seem to be the fish of choice and with no boat i cant get out on a lake. So if anyone is looking to share some knowledge please let me know

and if anyone is looking for a fishing buddy I am eager to soak up any knowledge from you guys.

Much appreciated,

You can try houghtons pond. It has a good amount of trout. You could use bait: shiners, worms, power bait and fish it off the bottom or you can cast lures: Spinners spoons or small rapalas. It's usually crowded on the weekend
