Merrimack river Lawrence ramp

Sure is. Start west of launch and head up river to 1st rt 495 bridge. You can fish from there back down river, through downtown haverhill and continue for several miles. If the tide is up, fish tight to shore and even try behind island west of launch. BE CAREFUL!!! Lots of hidden rocks above downtown haverhill

Really, I was looking at it yesterday and the water was in the tree line?

I was surprised to see the word low. I was at the Concord river and it was crazy high.

I finished the river last night and it was very high down in the haverhill section. once the tide turned and was incoming then things turned a little bit as far as the current and the fishing became a lot better I ended up with two fish just under 3 pounds

Is part of the river safe got cartoppers, current wise. Thanks!

The river is down to 12,400 cfs from 25,000 cfs a week ago. I don't know about the lower sections, but I cross it on the Tyngsboro Bridge twice a day. From what I see there, it should be fine to fish that stretch. I was at the Concord 2 days ago and the dock was afloat but the ramp to it was under water.

Hello Shawn. I fish out of Haverhill quite a bit. The ramp is at the Crescent Yacht Club. Be extremely careful if you fish west of the ramp, due to the incredible amount of rocks and the channel being unmarked. If you go east of the ramp, the channel is marked.
Of course, along with the treacherous rocks is an abundance of mean bronzebacks! I fished it 2 weeks ago for 3 hours after work and got 7 fish, with 2 just over 3lbs.
Spinnerbaits, cranks and twin-tail grubs on a 1/4oz ballhead work great. The cover around downtown Haverhill-bridges, walls, trees, docks are usual hotspots.
I have a tourney Saturday, but if you go Sunday, let me know and maybe I can lead the way. Gotta go early though.....parking is limited and the stripers are in pretty heavy!!

so if I go left off the ramp can I use my gas motor at all or should I just get on the TM and start fishing?

If you go left off the ramp (heading up river) you will want to follow on the right side of the river, along the sea wall which runs along downtown Haverhill. Stay about 50 feet off the wall and make the run past the train bridge. If you go above the train bridge, you will be ok if you follow the same course and keep an eye on the sonar. Once the river hits a section with woods on the left and a hard right turn, then get on the trolling motor. I fish that north side of the river from the rt. 495 bridge all the way back to the sea wall. They love a weightless senko against the wall or any other cover you find. If you catch 1 fish along a bridge, make sure you fish the rest of the pillings-the eddy behind each is the spot to hit. Twin tail grubs on a jig head also work well. If the current is very strong-usually during the outgoing tide, find some slack areas with cover. When the tide is incoming, it counteracts against the current and things heat up. Let me know how it goes.

awesome thanks. I have my transducer on my tm so I can't use the sonar while I'm going. I just have a 14 ft jon with a 9.9 outboard. I'm not sure if I'm going Sat or Sun but can't wait

You should be fine with your boat....geesh, here I am all worried about putting a ding in your Ranger...lol!
