Merimac fishing in a kayak

Went there yesterday and lost a 25-30" northern IN MY NET! ripped a hole thru the bottom of it. I also lost 2 rapallas that just poped off my line...bit off seems more likely after getting the green monster to my fingertips.

that sucks all around! I hate losing lures in a fish to, I dont think they stand a chance with that in there mouth!

was there again on tuesday and hooked a stripper that dragged me around for ~20 min. I screwed up by letting the fish drag my line across the bottom of the boat hitting a bur that cut my line. Did get to see it at about 3 feet away..looked about 3 foot long and 8-10" dia head. When he ran down no problem, upstream was another story.

That sounds like a blast. Too bad you couldn't haul him in.
