I got a message from Ron a.k.a. cookiecutter that he attempted to prefish Dark Brooke and was met with a locked gate at the ramp. he contacted the town and was told that because of construction, the ramp is closed until further notice. Today I called the person who gave us permission and he told me the same thing. So now we scramble. I tried to get Singletary , which is out that way and the person I need to talk to is out today and tomorrow. I just tried to get Oldham again and was told I need to go through the selectmen again and they do not meet until after memorial day. I tried to get West Monponsett and there is already another tournament there on the 1st. I just got in touch with the town of Carver. Sampsons pond is open that day and they will allow us to fish.
There is a $50 permit fee to use the pond. I am going to submit the paper work today because the deadline for board of selectman submissions is tomorrow. I will hold off from sending in a check till Friday. I will be posting an early sign up thread to see if there is enough interest to do this. The $50 fee can be divided equally between the number of boats that sign up. If we do not have a decent # of sign ups by Friday, I will just cancel the June 1st tourney and we will see everyone at The Nip June 15th. If we do have a decent amount of sign ups and I do send in a check and then you back out after that, I expect you to at least pay your share of the $50 permit fee.
I will post a separate sign up thread now.
