This reminds me of when I waded into the Charles in early may. So I'm surround by herring casting jigs into the rapids for smallies, it's about 7pm so the water is kinda dark. In my peripheral from down stream, all if a sudden a huge fish is moving towards my legs at a fast rate, about a 15lbs carp scared the crap outta me, I almost jump. Probably some built in reflex from watching too much shark week, lol.
Usually you wont see a carp chasing a blue-gill in my opinion it was a pike. In a 70 acre pond I am very doubtfull it was a muskie. The only other fish I could imagine would be a sheepshead. What body of water were you fishing ?

They won't chase them specifically..but sunfish will "scatter" when a big carp, or big fish of any kind really, spooks them by darting through.
