Went to Indian Head in Hanson today and was fishing a small cove when i heard a huge splash behind me took a look and saw a Hawk or something similar Slamming the water and came up with nothing....... 5 secs later he hit the same spot but there was a bit of chaos for a sec and he came up empty again !! So I threw a worm at the exact spot he was hitting and as soon as my worm hit I hooked a fish and brought this lil guy in!! I'm pretty sure I saved his life !! Also I think he bit the worm out of FEAR and thought the bird was hitting him again! Check out his wounds!

Coolest thing I have encountered while fishing ever!!

Also caught 4 bass , 3 perch and a pickerel , Let the Bites Begin!!

Was probably an Osprey, they have them over there. There also are a couple of immature eagles nesting around the pond. I was there yesterday morning, tough bite, the pond is way off Exclamation

Yeah I was talking to my Father and told him the story and he said it was probably an Osprey also, I'm almost positive after investigating that's what it was!!

That is really cool. I've caught plenty of carp with old wounds, or deformities prolly attributed to failed bird attacks when young. I've never had a chance to catch ones with fresh wounds during the encounter lol..right place right time and all that!

On a side note i did catch an Eagle trying to pick off a muskrat some years back..was really neat to witness.

I've seen a Bald Eagle at Quabbin swoop down and take a fish of a guy's line while he was trying to reel it in. I've also been at Quabbin when I wasn't catching anything yet a Bald Eagle swoops down and picks up a fish out of the water.

Either way it's an impressive sight.

Our one bass Sunday had similar marks on one side, but they were a little healed up.

When fly fishing out west for trout, I thoroughly hit an area - every pocket, every seem and every riffle. I gave up and started to walk downstream. An osprey promptly picked a nice rainbow from right were I was fishing. They are amazing birds.

Few years back I was fishing at Horn pd. in Woburn and I caught a nice brown around 2 lbs. I put it on a stringer and a redtail kept dive bombing until it caught it but was not able break my stringer. Lol an EPO officer was a witness to the theft attempt but no charges were filed. Lol
