I wanted to try out Fantasy Fishing this year, in particular the B.A.S.S. fantasy fishing. But that doesn't open until Feb 1.

In the meantime I signed up for FLW Fantasy Fishing. I started a league (called MAFishFinder.com) so if anyone wants to jump on in, just send me a PM and I'll give you the password for the league. The first tourney is in a few days, so the deadline to pick winners by is pretty soon (Feb 2nd i think).

You can join FLW Fantasy Fishing for free, and play with or without being in a league, or you can enter multiple leagues.

http://www.fantasyfishing.com

In case you've never played before (this is my first time) you choose 10 fisherman who are fishing in the particular tournament who you think will be in the top 10. Of those 10 you pick one who you think will win. You also guess the winning weight of the fisherman you pick to win. There are cash prizes and Walmart giftcardsgiven away as prizes for each tourney.

EDIT: BassMaster fantasy fishing is now officially open!

BassMaster officially opened their fantasy fishing today. The format is much different than FLW, in the BassMaster leage you pick 5 fisherman, one from each group:

Group A – one (1) angler from the list of the top 15 pre-ranked anglers.
Group B – one (1) angler from the list of all anglers pre-ranked 16 – 40.
Group C – one (1) angler from the list of all pre-ranked anglers 41+.
Group D – one (1) angler from the list of all pre-ranked anglers 41+.
Group E – one (1) angler from the list of all pre-ranked anglers 41+.

Prize for the first tourney is $1000 Bass Pro Shop giftcard, for each tourney thereafter a $500 card.

I am going to open a group (league) on the BassMaster fantasy fishing too, so if anyone is interested just shoot me a PM. I will be creating the league later in the week after I pick my team.

and like the FLW you dont have to join a league or you can join multiple leagues, the prize(s) are for overall winner(s) in entire contest.

how about KVD winning the BassMaster Classic on the Delta?!?!

and he won with the new KVD 1.5 square-bill crankbait. I can't wait to try out my KVD 1.5 in yellow-black back and my KVD 2.5 in Sexy Shad Smile After seeing the KVD 1.5 and 2.5 on Pro-Team Journal a few weeks ago I wanted one. They run soo erratically!

No prob Smile
Tried my 1.5 out today. I could not believe how well the square bill prevents hangups on sticks and logs.

my post from the "Where is the Open water" thread should answer those questions and then some:

"One of the little ponds behind my apartment is about 25% thawed, it was just enough to try my new (and first) baitcaster out. It went terrific, even though I didn't catch any fish or even get any bites, I had a blast learning to baitcast Go Fish

Funny thing was, another pond a few hundred feet away was still frozen solid with people skating on it."
