I did some trout fishing early this morning. Was using the Berkley floating Power Eggs on my ultra light setup and got a nice hit. I set the hook and it felt like a good size trout. Reeled it in and it was a solid LM bass. Hadn’t caught one using eggs before. I ended up with 1 trout, another LMB, a crappie and a bunch of sunfish. The other bass, crappie and sunfish were caught on a top water fly using a casting bubble.
I also caught 8 trout last weekend. It’s been a good start to the trout season.

I've been skunked at a few of my normal places so far. I went out on Little Sandy Bottom Pond in Pembroke/Hanson and got a few 1-2 lb fish. The water was crazy though, the waves were soaking us in the kayaks and it was mighty cold so we weren't there too long.
