Fishing In Or Near Concord, NH?

I have to head up to Concord tomorrow to take the NH boater safety test. The test is from 6 to 7 PM, so I thought I'd made a day of it, head up early, and find someplace(s) to fish.

But I don't know what's up there.

I see Horseshoe Pond right near where the test is given. Turtle Pond and Turkey/Little Turkey Ponds are close. Then there's a big river there, which Google Maps doesn't want to tell me the name of for some reason.

Anyway, if anyone knows a decent spot, and more important a place to launch my kayak, please let me know. =)

That is the Merrimack..... depends on how you are heading to Concord, NH.... there are a buttload of ponds and lakes all up and down Rte. 202.

Yeah, looks like I'll be taking 202 partway. Is the Merrimack worth fishing up that way?

I don't know about the river, but there are ponds in Winchendon that I know are good and Lake Monomonac is right on the MA/NH border - I have heard good things about that place. Pool Pond in NH is right off 202, but I don't know anything about it.

If you'll be in the Concord area, then try turkey pond, have fished it in tournaments before. Not a great boat ramp, but fishing is good here.

That's exactly where I went, actually. Only fished for about 3 1/2 hours, but it was worth it. Got about six bass, but one was a 4.6 and another was a 5.7. =)
