I just posted this on your welcome post as well, didn't see this one at first.
I know the pond area by the visitors center has a ton of shiners, I believe both types your looking for. I haven't tossed a net for bait in an eternity so I'm not a whole lot of help here..but, there is a guy that does commercial netting there, he drives a Yellow Van, with a bunch of paint blotches on the side..sadly I don't remember his name right now. But if your around the farm enough you'll see him occasionally towards the evening.
He may be able to point you in some good directions, He is a good guy but I dunno, since it is money for him, how willing he'll be to share spots. /shrug.
