I went Cape Cod Canal twice and Plum Island once. I didn't get any stripers. I didn't see anyone caught any stripers at CCC. I saw few people caught schoolies in PI river mouth. I am new to this surf fishing stuff. I am not too crazy about it. I would like to catch some keepers as an experience. My fishing passion is small mouth and large mouth. I think I am too old to change it.
I went CT river last Sunday. We boated 30 some fish. The dam was running 19000CFS. The water was gushing. We couldn't make it anywhere near the dam which is the best fishing location. The highlights is I caught a fall fish. Strange, it put up a good fight. I thought it was a shad for a movement. Caught a 19 inch river smallie which was one of my river smallie personal best. I caught few 19 inches before but nothing over 20 inch so far. Haha, nothing produce like Wachusett Reservior for giant smallies.
