Feeling lazy so I'm going to sling out some bait and see if I can snag a striper. What do you think works better, squid or clams? Going to be shorecasting in Hingham

Webb park and/or Bare Cove, early evening around dusk

I havent heard much about that area. I know in quincy its been all about the squid. I picked up a striper on clams in boston harbor 2 weeks ago. But i would suggest squid over that way.

Nice i just got a new setup up this year i picked up a penn 11' for 10 bucks when it was priced wrong on clearance

11' you could cast from the Canal and hit Texas

Posted Mon Aug 06, 2012 12:38 pm

Haha you need it in certain spots on the canal to get into the rips. I was down the bass pros and saw a 15ft rod they have seemed a bit much and it was only 30 bucks i would never use a rod of that size

You can buy the 15' and go to a small pond and join the bucket brigade

I use 12's for my carp fishing..great rods for distance..15's if your seriously trying to get somewhere with a bit of weight.
