I live close to both those places and only fish each a couple of times a year, there are better places to travel to. beaver pond in bellingham looks like one of those real bassy places but didn't live up to it. I got some 2-3 pounders in there but no numbers.

Great feed back, thank you oldfisher and badlarry, gotta love this site, I ride by Varney brother everyday to work. Not sure how to get in there. Maybe off a side street from hartford ave? I'm going to take a road trip to check them out first. Just talked to my brother and he says people he works with in wrentham fishen in Franklin res and pulling big boys out of there so not sure whats going on there. Take a few drive bys and see if I can grab a local.
