Believe or not, I see male bass guarding nest on July 4th in the past in super shallow water. The eggs are pretty small like sesame seed, pale white color. I was able to fool around and eventually caught this fish on a three inch Yum Dinger.

Water temp needs to hold steady in the low 60's. Usually the last week of May, 1st week of June in NE. People are thinking spawn way too early based on last weeks weather Exclamation 2 more months Exclamation

The water was starting to cook on the small ponds so all the bass were moving shallow and the fishing was great up untill this crap fluke. Me and my dad caught two nice females last week before the s*** weather. They were both in the 5lb range and in water less than 2ft. So even the big females were up in the shallows. We were on a small 7 acre pond.

When the water hits high 50's to low 60's and the moon is close to full or new. With that said, I saw three beds last Saturday and caught a male off of one. Water temp was 62 and the moon phase was new.

Do you go off of surface temp? I don't really have a way to check much deeper, and obviously, the surface is usually warmer than lower down.

The first spawners I find each year in two feet of water or less.

Do you mean places to fish Question Go to Google maps or the MA Wildlife website and you will find more than enough places to fish Exclamation The 2nd question is a tough one because it depends on what species you are fishing for, depth, clarity, etc.
