I decided to go with the Daiwa Exceler Ultra High Speed. I'll get back to you in mid march and let you know how it's going.

I have 2 of the Dawia Excellers 6.1 I use them mostly for pitchin and flipping one spooled with 65 lb braid for heavy stuff and the other with 14 lb mono. Have had both for 3 years great reels for the money

i got the bass pro flyer in the mail today and they have 2 baitcasters for sale... a browning midas limited originally $130 for $80 and the bps johnny morris originally $120 for $100. i have not fished either and i know it is out of the original price range, but if you could get a reel now and a rod later...and if one of these were decent enough to jump on...

just looking out for you.

Johnny Morris reels are a good deal they are better made than BPS
even thou they are made by the same company. I also have a couple of them have never had a problem with them.
The big difference between them is the quality of bearings they use
not the amount.
Even more expensive reels like cudro and others need matiance done to them other wise they too will fail on you. Keep them oiled and clean take presure off the drags when you are going to use them for a while.
BPS has a good warrenty
Its not always about the price that makes the reel.
just my opinon
