I have never fished on Christmas Day before maybe this year will be the 1st!!! This weekend isn't looking great but its not looking bad and the extended forecast looks pretty good(58 Christmas Day)! I was digging our Christmas Decos out of the loft in the garage last week and looked at my ice fishing sled, guess it stays where it is a little longer.

If you're wearing a Santa's hat on Christmas Day then you can add 1lb to every bass caught! Take a picture!

Was 60 deg. last Christmas with rain. It just wouldn't feel right fishing on Christmas Day!

I definitely can't get away for a yak trip because I'm the cook in my house but I think after we open gifts and I get the turkey in the oven im gonna do a bit of shoreline fishing at a local Pond.

I'd consider taking the yak out on Thursday, but the wind would make it real tough. Gonna be blowing 10 to 20mph. =(

Thinking of going for some shore fishing on the beach at
Asnacomet / comet Pond ,in Hubbardston,on Christmas.A couple weeks ago it was kinda crowded on the beach ,so I fished the boat ramp area,it was elbow to elbow there as well. The fishing was slow for every one, except for this HUGE eagle swooped down and missed a fish ,then came back and nabbed a rainbow and took it into a tree..Allot of ol timers/bucket brigaders were there from Wachusett Res.only a couple fish caught,I caught a little smallmouth using a dumbunny streamer.the streamer was almost as big as the fish. There was only 1 boat out there, trolling for trout,he said he only got 1 to the boat, small rainbow, and he had a couple drops.Well, that's where I'll be thurs. and friday,perhaps..Need to try out my new flyline that should arrive today. If anyone else is going out there ,don't hesitate to say hi..I'm the one with the big yellow laundry hamper tied to my leg..

I got out in the yak for a couple hours this morning.Water was 42-43 degrees and calm as can be, quite a bit of baitfish hitting the surface. Caught a 10 inch bass and a bunch of Pikerel. Hope to do some shore fishing tomorrow!

Got out today as well. It was a struggle early with just 1 small keeper bass in the 1st 3 hours. Moved to pond 2 and had 3 hits at the boat and lost em all within 50 yards of the ramp after launching. Fished just about the entire perimeter of the pond with only 1 pickeral to show for it. Got back to the launch cove and proceeded to put 7 bass between 1.5 and 3lbs into the boat in a little over an hour before we had to call it quits. Left em biting we felt. All fish caught on reaction baits

Enjoy the rest of this week! Looks like the mild weather is over. Winter weather rolling in next week and more than likely here to stay!
