So I inhereited a 10-12' flat bottom aluminum jon boat from my father recently, pretty stoked on that. I have a few questions now that I am unleashed from the shoreline. Do I need to register the boat if I only intend on using a trolling motor? At this point I don't own a trolling motor but it does have oars for rowing. Any good places around Dedham (+1 hour) when I can get out on the water and test the vessel. I would like to be able to take the boat up to NH and Maine as well so I want to make sure that I go about the legal process correctly. As a side note...do you guys name your boats? I think it would be funny. Something like Pequod.
