Merrimac River, Route 1A Bridge Newburryport Fishing Report

First Striper 2014

Hit the incoming tide on the Merrimac this morning. Fished 7:30-9:30AM.

Other than my first stripers of the year, it was just an average trip.

Clams on the bottom with an ounce egg sinker. Lots of other people were catching fish too. All schoolies. The attached pic was the standard for me and the others I saw come in today. Lots of fun in one of my all-time favorite spots.

I had to hit this spot again, as I've got a kayak and will move my saltwater game to the Boston area. Message me if you catch stripers in Boston from a kayak and want company.
