Demond Pond is an average size (119 acres) two story pond located off Pleasant Street about one mile south of Rte. 122A. The water is clear with a transparency of 8.5 feet. The bottom type is generally mud, although there are some areas of rocky reef and rubble. About 50% of the shoreline is developed with year round homes and cottages. Cover is provided by boulders and downed trees with some areas of sparse aquatic weed growth. Boat access is off of Pleasant Street on the west side of the dam, but the dirt ramp is suitable only for light boats, car top boats and canoes. Shore fishing is limited to private property except for the dam area immediately adjacent to the boat ramp. Fish Populations: largemouth bass, chain pickerel, yellow perch, white perch, black crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed, red breasted sunfish, smallmouth bass, rock bass, brown bullhead, golden shiners, and white suckers. The most abundant gamefish is the largemouth bass and the most abundant panfish are the four species of sunfish. Tiger muskies were stocked here annually from 1993-1996.
