Apparently I Was An Awful Fisherman For The Past 3 Years....
well you guys wanted a shorter story so here it is lol. i went to my spot again lastnight and had 3 pike hookups 2 of which came off the hook and one i got to shore had it in my hands while unhooking it then i found myself playing tug of war with its tail as it flopped out of my hands back into the water before i could get a weight or any pics, BUT...... i went back this morning for a couple hours and threw the same swimbait and got a couple hits but couldnt set the hook (no matter what i do these specific swimbaits just suck with hook sets) so i switched to a mepps aglia and proceeded to destroy every fish in sight! i came... i saw.... i conquered..... i am no longer a pike virgin... short enough story for ya? hahaha

Nice job I made the mistake of no net or glove when I hooked my first pike. Lost it lifting it out of water. Would love To get out there pike hunting with yah sometime.

Thanks frankie n you ain't kiddin bud. Carp.pull really hard but nowhere near as violent as a big angry pike! My drag is pretty much locked down just to.set the heavy swimbait hook I'm ising and tjey still make hard pulls and long runs

Fun fact lol. Even though I cought this fish in almost the exact same spot as my first one the other night and the weight differance is only 6oz I know its not the same fish cause if you look at the dorsal and anal fins on my first pike are roun and in pristine shape, look at those fins on todays fish and they are all torn up and shredded. Tjis guy has been around the block and was one mean nasty fighter :)
