5/10/14 - MA B.A.S.S. Nation Pro-Am @ Webster Lake
2nd of 4 tournaments for this trail this year. Heard intel that the spawn had started and the males were moving up on the bed. Wasn't sure what to expect, spawn tourney's can be tough, especially from the back of the boat. Day would start with a little rain, but sun with wind towards the end. Another good turnout, I don't know the exact numbers, somewhere around 21-22 boaters, and 10-12 Co-Anglers I think. My usual sopt as Co-Angler, My draw was a friend of mine Randy. Our schedule up till now had never worked out to fish together, so this worked out well. We fished beds all day. Randy capitalized early on a spot he had scoped out a few day earlier. He had decent limit by 8:30, and upgraded a few through out the day. He also found a 5lber that he worked on through-out the day for a total of about 3 hours. I struggled early, tough to not be frustrated when the other guy is loading the boat, and I haven't had a bite yet. Finally about 12:30 I get one, a 1lber. An hour later I pick up my 2nd which was my best of the day at 2.21lbs. Towards the end, Randy is working on that 5lber again, while working another smaller one that would not bite. Randomly I grabbed a jerkbait, cast past the bed, reel it down right in front of the bass, snap it quick 3 times, and the bass drills it! Crazy stuff. On the Co-angler side, My 3 Largemouth for 4.42lbs was enough for 4th place. 3rd, and 2nd were both 7lbs+, and 1st was 11lbs+ including an about 5lb Lunker. Boaters my bud Randy had 3rd with 11.85lbs, 2nd had 12lbs+, 1st was 13.50lbs with a 5.91lb Lunker Largemouth.
