1 Guy On Vacation+1 Guy Calling In Sick 2 Days=2 Kabillion Fish Fishing Report
On Aug 8th I met up with Sam to fish one of his ultra secret spots. He blind folded me and made me wear earplugs. We drove for about an hour but I'm pretty sure we did some circles and cutbacks. We get to the spot and launch his boat. 1st cast with the buzzbait and I get a dink. Sam makes a cast with a buzzbait and gets a dink. I can't remember any time I've ever seen both guys get 1st cast bass. It goes like that all day. Jigs, buzzbaits, and crankbaits. Mostly the jig. The weather was really cloudy and it had rained a bit when we 1st started. The fish were on the edges of the overhangs and just happy to be alive. 1 kabillion fish boated.
Day 2 Friday August 9th
I met Sam at the same parking lot this morning and there was rain in the forecast. We were on our way to A1 Stump pond. It started raining 5 minutes after we got on the highway. Neither one of us had been here before and were surprised by the water clarity. I got a blowup right away on the buzzbait. We threw frogs, buzzbaits and jigs but mostly Sam walked the frog and I buzzed. We figured they would be roaming around a bit with all the clouds, wind and rain. They were. We caught them in the pads, near stumps, over grass and just about everywhere else. The big fish of the day came on Sam's popping frog that he was walking near a shoreline tree. The temps started to drop and so did the bite. Caught a couple of more on jigs near stumps on the way back to the ramp. For anyone planning on going here for the first time...GO SLOW!!!

We don't fish at Dark Hollow. LOL. Secret spots must be protected at all costs. I respect that. I was just glad I didn't have to ride in the bed of the truck
