I grew up on Silver Lake in the 1950's and 60's. Fishing was never allowed because it is a reservoir for Brockton. They used to have floating signs back then, but not since. Signs were never posted every 30 feet, and I don't believe that is a requirement today. You are not allowed to fish in this reservoir!
No public access unless u live on the lake anyway
it is 100 percent legal to fish here and you can't get in trouble for it because the only way it is illegal to fish somewhere is if there is a sign posted every 30 yards telling you that "fishing in this pond is illegal" and it has to be signed by the ma department of fishing, and there aren't signs every thirty yards
100% ILLEGAL TO FISH
Is it actually illegal to fish here? I keep hearing conflicting reports. I've heard some say its illegal, I've heard some say its legal. Even the Wikipedia link has a description of where to go for shore fisherman.
WHILE THE BASS FISHING IS RUMORED TO BE FANTASTIC HERE IT IS PUBLIC DRINKING SUPPLY AND ILLEGAL TO FISH HERE
Silver Lake is a 640-acre (2.6 km2) lake in Pembroke, Kingston, and Plympton, Massachusetts, south of Route 27 and east of Route 36. The Pembroke/Plympton town line is entirely within the lake, and a portion of the western shoreline of the lake is the town line with Halifax. The lake is the principal water supply for the City of Brockton, whose water treatment plant is on Route 36 in Halifax. The inflow of the pond is Tubbs Meadow Brook, and the pond is the headwaters of the Jones River. Occasionally water is diverted into Silver Lake from Monponsett Pond in Halifax and Furnace Pond in Pembroke (through Tubbs Meadow Brook) whenever there is a water shortage. Access to the pond is through Silver Lake Sanctuary, a 92 acre property where one can walk, hike and fish, which is located at the end of Barses Lane, off Route 27 in Kingston.
