Whitney Pond Description

Whitney is an average sized (110-acre) warm water pond located in Winchendon north if Route 12. The water is a brown color with a transparency of 3.5 feet. The shoreline is undeveloped. Aquatic weeds are dense around the entire perimeter of the pond. Boat access is available for car top boats on a gravel ramp off of Central Street. Shore access is available along most of the pond’s perimeter. Whitney is annually stocked with 500 trout during the spring season. Largemouth bass and chain pickerel provide fishing for warm water game fish with some good-sized individuals of both species. Bullheads, yellow perch and black crappies provide most of the pan fishing.
