Comment: So I headed out there today and man, you are right, they destroyed that place. All those weeds are gone. No decent fish to be found. How sad...

Comment: Tough luck, man. When was this chemical treatment? I haven't seen that, though I saw similar signs up in Upper Mystic (but had great luck there last weekend). Spy has been pretty good to me this year (only year I've ever fished it!). I've been all over that lake in the kayak and there are no lilly pads anywhere, just lots of hydrilla and that kind of stuff under the surface, but those weeds hold bass. I've never caught a thing from shore (I've tried), or even near publicly accessible shoreline, but I've caught a lot of good fish there from the kayak around the island and near private docks. There are good bass in there, maybe hard to find at times. Spy is also full of big carp.
