Top Surface- Late October Lunker
I had the opportunity to do a couple hours of night fishing on Lake Boone and it was awesome. The water was glass the whole night and I managed to find a late October slob. I headed out around 7pm on the water and started off casting near the docks as I went through the channel. A couple small jumps at the Jitter and one little bass in the boat and I decided to head to a shelf on the other side of the lake. After the first 10 casts in the new area I ended up getting the attention of a Lunker on the jitterbug. There was a loud strike that missed and then a second later he came back and connected with a treble hook on the lure. I was able to crank it in the boat after a great battle. The bass weighed in at 5 lbs 8 ounces and proved that Oct. 21st isn't too late to catch a top surface Lunker.
