Stumpfield, NH Fishing Report

Stumpfield 8-27-11

I'll try to keep this short. Went to NH to fish stumps pre-Irene but they were less than glorious. Fished the pads and caught a lot of 1.75 - 2+ range fish - mostly on the frog and pitching texas rigged plastics into laydowns that collected grass and weeds on the branches. The frog bite was ON for about 15 minutes as the clouds and light rain rolled in. This beast absolutely crushed the frog. I saw it's head before pulling it up and thought it was going to pass 6 lbs. easily. All head no cheese. Came in at 5 lbs. 2 oz.
