Pre-Irene, Random Small Pond, Not On Map. FINALLY!
So, the friends wanted to call it a day... I was pretty 'whatever' about it. We parted ways, and I headed from Norton back to Boston. It was raining pretty hard, but when I was on 95 around Norwood, it stopped.
I pulled off in Dedham and began to look around and hit the first body of water I found. Saw another guy fishing there too, so it seemed hopeful.
I had one rod rigged with a red senko, and another with a cheap plastic salamander. Hit the water with the senko for a bit, nothing. Dropped that rod and hit the water with the salamander. Fourth or fifth retrieve, I took a huge hit. Pulled it in and it was a 19-20" in. Larry.
Finally! Nearly 11 hours of fishing and a nice bass. The other fella was nice enough to take a shot of me with my fish. We then cooked it up on the spot and took turns feeding one another. Just kidding about that last part. At this point, it started to pour again, thunder, lightning, all that good stuff, so I packed up and called it a day.
Haha!
I have navigation in my truck. It's an '09, so with a '10 disc, but this little spot wasn't on it... I just saw it. Real small spot.
A navigation is KEY for this sort of thing because it shows you all the bodies of water around you. I spent about half a tank scouting and surveying access points a few weeks ago in framingham....love the part about you guys feeding each other, haha, lol.
