Yellow tail flounder are usually caught in deeper water (100 ft or more) and have yellow/orange dots on the back where as a winter flounder has black dots on the back thats the easiest way to distingu ...

Stick with the jig I have stuck a few over 5 this year already you just cant beat a black jig with a trailer.
