Private Lake, ME Fishing Report

Maine.

So, the girlfriend's parents invited us up to Maine. They had a lakefront house. Pumped, I brought my gear up with me. A few weeks before, after a long night of drinking, I was up watching infomercials. A banjo minnow commercial came on and I impulsively ordered a couple kits.

Nothing was working up there, so I threw one on and ended up losing damn near all of them that day because the fish kept tearing 'em up! All but one of these was caught on a 5" banjo minnow from the shore! If any of you guys have these, I was not fishing the way the DVD that came with it told me to. I was flicking my wrist rapidly and kept the slack tight the entire time.

As soon as I would see the bait disappear, I would give it a second, then set.

What I thought was a drunken mistake turned out to be a pleasant surprise!
